Plantation Indian rosewood

Hi,

Im wondering if anyone has used plantation Indian rosewood.
From pictures it looks good with straight grain but does it sound as good as forest grown?
Does it split or warp?

The reason I ask is it stops the older forest trees being felled an makes use of a sustainable resource.

I've got some that is not forest grown. Has a lighter colour, wider grain and is no where near as hard as the forest grown wood. I've built a couple of guitars that went to the USA about 3 years ago now. They sounded great then, and the customer was wrapped in them. They both had German Spruce tops that I'm pretty sure was the overriding factor on the sound. Not so much the back and sides.

I was lead to believe that this rosewood was stuff that is grown around tea plantations, so gets a lot more sun and nutrients than the forest grown wood. Not strictly plantation grown, but pretty similar I suspect.

Thanks Allen, by plantation I meant grown with the tea/coffee plantations etc etc not actual rosewood plantations.
