Australia: The movie

Post by Ron Wisdom » Fri Nov 28, 2008 3:23 pm

Due to other commitments our sons couldn't be here today for Thanksgiving so we are having it on Friday. Because of that, though, the wife and I went to the movies and saw: Australia! I highly recommend it. The wife didn't think I would like it so much because it might be too much of a "love story". I really, really liked it, though. Great story, great acting, and some beautiful scenery. Not being Aussie, I don't know how accurate it is, but I suspect it is right on. Five stars ***** from me.

The movie has had mainly luke warm reviews here in Australia. On the ABC's Movie show it got 3 1/2 stars.....the same score the reviewers gave "Animals In Love".....a movie about the mating habits of animals.

Im not going to race out and see the movie...I see plenty of the country the movie was shot in in my work.

That said...if you loved the movie then get your proverbial over here to Australia and see it for yourself. There's free accomodation here in Adelaide at my place and Im sure accomodation could be arranged with ANZLF members in other parts of the country.

Thanks, Martin. Some day, when the economy settles, we just might trek in that direction. It's top on my list.
