What really makes me cringe, Hesh, (and I am both a US and Australian Citizen) is to hear the POTUS described as

"the leader of the Free World"

If that is the case, maybe we all should have a vote.

You forget Jeff, we don't really live in a "Free World". It's just that our illusion of freedom is a little more complete than many nations. (BTW, did you know that Australia does not have a constitutionally protected right to free speech?)

I thought this was interesting. A lot of this is not what should be used to judge the fitness of an individual to hold high office, but if the shoe was on the other foot, if the Republicans had this much ammo to destroy Obama, I'll bet they would have used every bit of it.

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to publicly display a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected a reality, if the tables were turned, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative characteristics in another when there is a color difference.

And, think of this - the candidates' educational backgrounds:

Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations. Magna Cum Laude
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Joseph Biden:

Sarah Palin:

University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our standing in the world.

We will know in a few hours. Do the schools over there act as polling booths and throw on fund raisers to supplement their pathetic allowance from the government? We raised $1650 at the last election, bought air cons for 2 classrooms.

There's only one candidate who can give that back to you, your dream, your belief in your country, your hope. Shit, give it back to all of us. Don't let us down.

I stayed up and watched Four Corners last night. Touring through the Rust Belt. Talking to "Joe the plumber".

I was pretty dismayed at the mind set and reasoning behindf the way they were voting of many of the people interviewed. I don't know if it's indicative of "Joe the plumber's across the USA. But from what I saw and heard from these people, it seems that a great deal of them were way down the IQ scale.

I'm not saying that who they were voting for made a difference in my opinion, just the why.

Everything from Obama is a Muslim, so they wouldn't vote for him. He's black and therefore doesn't have American interests at heart. He's gonna take away our guns. He's a socialist, and going to tax us to death. God wants America to be Republican, Sarah Palin is a woman, and I want a woman president (Perhaps they have some inside info that McCain isn't going to last a full term).....well you get the idea.
