I teach at the Gordon TAFE in Geelong and we've been negotiating a project with a college in Hanoi for the past three years so that they will deliver a Diploma of Computer Systems Engineering and their students will get an Australian qualification from the Gordon.
My job is to liase with the staff in respect to curriculum and assessments and to ensure the standard of the course meets Australian education requirements.
The pace of the city is simply frenetic. (but I've been told Ho Chi Minh City is much worse) I've been to quite a few Asian countries but never seen anything like this before.
Crossing the road is an art. You simply walk out into the traffic and let the 125cc chicken chasers go around you. A bit unnerving at first but you get used to it. Beer here is also 20 cents a glass.
This morning we did some filming at VTV2 which is the national science/educational channel. They're producing a 45 minute doco on the project so at some stage I'll do a youtube post of the program so you can have a laugh at yours truely dubbed into Vietnamese.
Heres a pic

I've been fairly busy on this trip but one of my priorities is to track down some Dalbergia bariensis and Mun Ebony.
