Neck : Mahogany
Fb : Macassar Ebony

What's on YOUR bench ?

I love a dreadnought with round shoulders, I think it suits the shape much better, lovely work...

but in between Im helping my son build a resonator and Im also building a cot for my first grandchild ,luckily my customer is patient ??
this is just rough sanded and a coat of shellac so I could make the grain pop as the victim sorry customer wanted some picis

That's a nice bit of Blackwood Dave, where is it from ? it has a popping figure!.
Can't wait to see the final product , should be a gem.

Dave did you have any issues (ie discolouration) bending the blackwood sides?

Hi Martin
no problems at all with discolouration other than by me
the bass side bout I actually burned a little at the waist ,I was showing my son how to bend it and ended up giving him a lesson in what not to do ??
This is probably about the most figured blackwood I have seen and it bent really easily

Hi guys
and well done for your projects. It's been a while I didn't post anything on the forum so here it is : I'm currently working on two Weissies, both made of blackwood and maple, but with different bracing systems and a few cosmetic changes. We'll see in a few months which one sounds better
