Hi Folks, I have completed 2 builds in the past month and these are builds 2 & 3. I have been building these under the tutelage of Trent P at the Brisbane Guitar Making School.
The Mandola has a scale of 17" with a bout of 310mm, I borrowed the mold from Gary who also is a regular at the BGMS.
Sound Board is Hoop Pine, Back Sides and Neck is Burdekin Plum, the fret board, headstock veneer and bindings is White Mahogany and the bracing timber is King Billy Pine.
The Irish Bouzouki has a scale of 640mm with the bout at 375mm Sound Board is Bunya Pine, the Back, Sides & Neck is Mountain Ash, the Fret Board, Head Stock Veneer, bindings and other highlights I believe to be Sydney Blue Gum. Bracing timber is King Billy Pine.
I am still learning and have a lot more to learn.
Cheers Mark
