Re: Awards to Riversong Guitars
After reading all the past discussions on adjustable necks, I found this an interesting wrinkle in that design. I also wondered if their design would actually stiffen the sides slightly and work to prevent energy leakage. I think since I have built a few guitars using Trevor's falcate bracing design...

Re: Fifteen inch Semi Hollow
The flared shapes of the top and the way the finish shows them makes this instrument so sensual.
Beautiful work.

Re: Huon Pine & Tassy Mrytle Acoustic Bass
Yes, the reason I built the bass for my wife was to try to reduce feedback. I made the body thinner, and removed the soundhole, but still K&K pickups. It is much louder than the Taylor, has a nice full deep sound, and no feedback. She switches back and forth between guitars, and the variation in sou...

Re: Huon Pine & Tassy Mrytle Acoustic Bass
Really beautiful instrument ! The detailing is stunning. I used the K&K pickups on a recent bass build, and I love the sound they give. Are you happy with the sound? What strings are you using? The bass I built is for my wife, and she has a Taylor GS Mini. We used the D'Addario EXPPBB190GS strings t...

Re: Visual Analyzer on a Mac
There is a free software I use for analyzing room acoustics I use on my MacBook called REW. I haven't tried it for testing plates, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. The only thing that I had to do was enter the dynamics of the mic I was using to calibrate it since I wasn't using an actual SPL mi...

Re: Kootenay Tonewoods
Another source for excellent quality tonewoods is: https://www.mountainvoice.ca/ Gordon Carson does it all. He logs, mills, cures, ships etc. all sourced from the areas around Valemount, and McBride BC Canada. Gordon is extremely particular and a real one of a kind individual. Tell him Dale Stephens...

Re: Froggy Bottom P12
I'd like to thank you both for this thread, it's perfect for me, and I appreciate Mark summarizing his experience, and years of forum discussions. I thought I would contribute, but with the caveat that I'm only 5 guitars in myself, and I'm really interested in experimenting and pushing boundaries. B...

Re: Falcate Bracing Question with 14 Fret Body Joint
I am also in the process of starting a design for a 14 fret neck joint, so I look forward to responses to your post. I have been re-reading the appropriate sections of the Gore/Gilet books and it looks to me that you are meeting most of the criteria set out in 7.3.2 except perhaps: "The arms of the ...
