Well I actually for my second guitar I used Western Red Cedar off cuts from a Skip Bin i was going past a few years ago; it was quarter sawn and was from window frames; 70 x 40mm and a 800mm long; i had to cut it into thin strips and glue them all together side by side. it worked out OK i think.
